WHITEBAY LAVENDER FARM IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE SEASON - REOPENING NOVEMBER 2010
An American-style red barn and the picturesque Esk Valley in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand provides the lovely backdrop for Whitebay World of Lavender. Fully established on 2 hectares, Liz and Max Patmoy established Whitebay in 1992 and are in their twelvth season of picking and distilling for essential lavender oil. They are keen to share with holiday makers and visitors, their knowledge and love of the lavender plant and their unique tourism facilities.
The lavender farm is graced by over 20,000 plants which are used as the basis for a number of health care products, cosmetics and homeopathic preparations. Admission is free at Whitebay. Tours are available to suit you with the opportunity to view the lavender plants, harvesting machinery, distillery, café and tourists are given an opportunity to purchase the lavender products made from the pure lavender oil.
Situated in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, alongside the main highway from Taupo to Napier (State Highway 5), Whitebay is just 20 minutes from the Art Deco city of Napier and has coach and mini bus parking. Clean, toilet facilities are provided and wheelchair access is incorporated.
At the Whitebay Café a comprehensive luncheon menu is offered with specialty foods such as lavender ice-cream and lavender teas. We pride ourselves on our top level of table service and multi-lingual staff. Inexpensive tours of 25 minutes duration are conducted every day at times to suit you.
